Just a quick post today. Four small points about your credit file that you might want to consider before applying for a loan. Don’t forget that you can get your free credit score at the Jungle, don’t miss out!
Anyhow, here’s a few titbits that, in my experience, are good ways to improve your credit file:
- Do check your credit report before making a new application, make sure that everything is up to date and the information is accurate. Remember the three credit bureaus in the UK (Experian, Equifax and Callcredit) each have their own databases so you might want to check all three versions.
- Take every precaution to safeguard your ID. CIFAS is a great place to start. Google them!
- Make sure you’re on the electoral roll at your present address
- And last little pointer, if you’re in a lot of bother, there are charities that can help you like the Consumer Credit Counseling Service. Pick up the phone if you’re worried.
